Municipality of Heraklion, following its digital strategy, operates two Internet Hotspots for free internet access to all citizens.  The first is located at Androgeo street close to the City Hall and the second at the suburb of Patelles. A third one will begin its operation in the following months.

The cost of these two hotspots was 35.255 euro and was funded 80% by EU.

Municipality of Heraklion recognizes as an important citizen right the access to internet services and materializes plans for e-government, e-democracy, digital content and free internet access.
