For the issuance of a marriage license you and your partner (if he/she is also foreigner) will need the following documents translated into Greek:

1. Certificate from the relative country that you have no impediment to marriage. (please see notes)
2. Official Birth Certificate. (please see notes)
   
3. Permit of residence or valid visa (if applicable)
   

Important Notes

1. If your country of origin has joined the Convention of Hague, the documents 1 and 2 need the APOSTILLE stamp (from the relevant service of your country). For more information visit http://www.apostille.virtue.nu/
2. If your country of origin has not joined the Convention of Hague, authentification of the documents 1and 2 from your Embassy and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Greece is required.

All translations should be made by official authorities (the Translations Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a Consulate).
