Municipality of Heraklion along with the University of Crete and Cisco Systems organized an event about ICT and Broadband Services in Heraklion city. The event took place at Heraklion's City Hall in 16th of October 2007.

The event opened with a welcome speech from Mr Emm.Alexakis,  vice mayor of the city. Then Mr Costis Mochianakis, ICT Manager of the Municipality of Heraklion, presented the digital strategy of the city, the ICT projects that are underway and the benefits for the citizens.

Mr M.Kaloghrou from the University of Crete, analyzed the challenge of broadband technology in the region of Crete while Mr J.Tsiamis talked about the use of ICT by the local governments. The event closed by Mr N.Lamprogeorgos of Cisco Systems who presented the broadband model for the city of Heraklion.
